The Gen 3 Ford F-150 Raptor could be released late 2021 or sometime in 2022, we don’t really know. What we do know, thanks to leaked images, is that a prototype exists. The leaked sneak-peeks reveal very noticeable changes and upgrades. A few highlight takeaways stood out in comparison to the Gen 2 Raptor.
According to insider sources, the Gen 3 Raptor will have TWO engine options:
● PowerBoost H.O. (High Output) Twin Turbo V6 Hybrid
● Limited Edition 5.2L supercharged V8 with over 700 horsepower (from 2020 Shelby GT500)
In a reputable Ford F-150 Blog/Forum, it’s apparent Ford has decided not to install the suspension camouflage, allowing a clear-view of the new coil spring design.
As you can see, the leaf springs normally fitted on all F-150 Raptors are soon to be a thing of the past. Thick coil springs replace the Raptor’s leaf springs, in an attempt to mimic the basic set-up installed to rival number one—the Ram Rebel TRX.
Raptor’s FORD Grille Treatment Reappears
The third-generation Raptor seems to be getting a face-makeover as well; a quieted-down grille with no bold FORD lettering. The most recent photos strongly suggest the very identifiable Raptor design will also replicate the huge RAM lettering on the front end of the Raptor-fighting Ram Rebel TRX.
Slowly but surely Gen 3 Raptor information is coming out and we’re here with open arms!
